Our 2014 Annual General Meeting had a new format which began with a delicious lunch of home-made soups provided and served by the hard-working Committee.
At the AGM, our current Chairman Lesley Bennion retired after her three-year term. Lesley Thompstone also retired from the Committee. The Club is very grateful to them both for their commitment and hard work.
After the AGM, the very popular speaker Charlie Haylock entertained everyone with amusing tales of 'Suffolk v. Norfolk' baiting, and explained not only the origin of many local Suffolk words, but of words in general everyday use - like 'neighbour'. Check out his website to find out more. Charlie has a lot of learning, lightly worn, and imparts it with wit and perfect timing.
The meeting ended with a cream tea, and the Club would like to thank the Committee for a new and lively AGM format and delicious food.
We look forward to a happy and successful 2014.
